A herb is a complex substance. Today we know any given blade of leaf has 5000+ phytochemical in it. Using such a part of herb can be mind boggling even if we use the modern biochemistry. While the brilliant Ayurveda herbology called "Dravya Guna" is complete in itself, this can radically enhance our modern clinical use the herbs. Ayurveda explores the intelligence of the herb via a dozen different ways - such as tastes, qualities, potency, site absorption, unique action, effect on digestion, effect on metabolism, effect on tissues, effect on organs, effect on system, effect on disease and so on. The most amazing fact is this today, over a 100 Ayurveda herbs used in the western herbalism have the same or similar indications to the ancient masters'. This conference explores the following topics. How did ancient masters knew therapeutic effects of herbs? What's a typical therapeutic description of an Ayurveda herb? What was the logic of combine herbs in a formula? How to apply Ayurveda principles to western herbs? How to apply Ayurvedic herbalism in your practice?
